It is entirely possible that I can attribute an eighth of my total weight to Super Grand Buffet.

They are the local Chinese buffet.

I have been frequenting this restaurant since it opened its doors when I was a teenager, over twenty years ago. It became a family tradition, actually.

Need examples of just how obsessed I am with this place? Well:

1. The owner calls herself my daughter’s Chinese Grandma.
2. The owner approached me about my daughter working for them.
3. The owner gives me Asian pears from her tree when they are in season.
4. My daughter’s photo is on her wall behind the register. It is there twice: Kindergarten and High School. The photo is displayed with the rest of her family photos.
5. When a long-time friend suggests meeting for lunch, they always say, “We need to go grab Chinese!”
6. I used Super Grand as my discussion example last week in school. We were asked if we were to buy a local business, what we would do to enhance its profitability. It was a natural choice.

My loyalty isn’t to the restaurant. It is the people. They are amazing individuals and I love them all.
