“Today is a great day to have a great day!”
Mantras can help set you up for success. I have two that I repeat every morning for that reason. This one is the one that helps me get going. It motivates me.
My mindset was exceptionally negative a few years ago. This mantra helped me train myself to think of everything ahead in a positive light. It tells me that I set the tone of my day, not the day itself!
If I expect my day to be difficult or bad, then it is bad. Life goes more smoothly if I tell myself that I am ready to face challenges.
The second mantra I use complements this one, as well. It is simply that “My mind doesn’t control me, I control my mind.” This is used because I am notoriously driven by emotional responses. I live with intrusive thoughts, and this reminds me that it does not tell me how to feel. I decide that.
Together, I am telling myself that today is a good day because I said it. My mind didn’t decide that this would be. I made it be.
