There is not a word I would willingly ban.
You know the line, “Guns don’t hurt people, people hurt people?” The same applies to words.
Words are descriptors. They encompass our thoughts and feelings. I swear enough to get kicked off a pirate crew.
Expression is not the problem. How people use words is the problem. Using words to spread hate can be problematic. Those same words can also say things beautifully.
The perceived intention of a word is a problem. Why ban a word when you can change the perception created by the defining intent behind the word?
I am an advocate for expanding your vocabulary and learning uncommon words.
I am the last person to look for acceptance of banning a word of any kind. Just be mindful of how you express your thoughts and problems solved.
Anyway, some of the best insults stay in my head as a form of stress relief. I even enjoy creating the most original expressions to detail a situation or person who has me exceptionally upset. It relieves tension when I cannot change a situation and just adapt.
That doesn’t mean I am going to walk up to someone and use these linguistic creations on the person to hurt their feelings. I’m not trying to hurt others, I’m trying to relieve stress.
