How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Let’s Discuss

The short answer is not often. This is especially true if I don’t feel motivated to complete the goal.

This morning, I created the template for my April nutritional tracking in Excel because I wasn’t motivated enough to start my morning routine.

Did I need to do it at some point? Yes. Did it need to be done right now when I have a lot of work to get through today? No. However, I am really good at procrastinating when I don’t feel motivated to adult.

The ability to say no deflates even more if I am asked to place the needs of another before my own. I am guilty of doing for others above myself, and finding that balance is very difficult.

I am less of a doormat than I once was, but it is still difficult for me to stand my ground. It takes practice. I am getting there, though.

I find this aspect relies on self-love. Now that I have built up some, my ability to say no when I absolutely need to focus on my needs is getting easier.
