And then I was grateful for the impression I left on others…

Gratitude Jar 2025 for May 2nd

I am grateful for those who see my abilities without question.

A long time ago, I learned to accept that I do not see myself like others. I do not feel as intelligent, articulate, or capable as others claim. Yet, sometimes I am astonished when someone points out the impression I give.

Yesterday, I had a meeting with my mentor. I wanted some extra insight into the best approach for marketing my services. I was also seeking insight into price points that reflect my skill and ability.

Through this conversation, she complimented me in a way that I have never felt. She is an intelligent woman. She helps people and teaches business knowledge. So, when she told me that I convey:

  • Intelligence
  • Credibility
  • Comprehension
  • Skill
  • Etc…

That hit me in a way that I have never felt before.

No one as accomplished as her, nor specializing in business, has ever said anything close before.

I’ve been told I am intelligent and have a quick comprehension. No one in business, though, has ever affirmed my business comprehension.

I told her that I simply wish to be successful in business. I just want to feel that confidence and know that I have the right combination for success.

She told me that I am already successful in business.

She then highlighted that it is obvious when I speak.

That conversation meant a lot to me. Those words will always stick with me.

She also helped answer a few questions I had about my educational experience. Her insight into the mindset of college instructors helped a lot. I was struggling with the tone my own instructor took with a question I asked.

Now that you know what I am most grateful for today, I pose this to you:

What brings you gratitude today?

I’d love to hear what makes you grateful to be alive!
